Owner and operator of Malaysia flagship store, JDMas Commerce Sdn Bhd has entered into a strategic partnership with GX Digital Sdn Bhd, as part of their larger expansion strategy into ASEAN +1, including Malaysia. The collaboration will add value to Malaysian sellers and merchants by opening new markets across borders, and to strengthen brand presence & sales in Malaysia through offering a superior shopping experience in Malaysia.
The market in Malaysia and the region is emerging from the pandemic, where consumers experience eCommerce lethargy and are continuously seeking new ways to purchase and experience shopping, both online and offline. This necessitates a new form of service level for consumers.
Through the partnership, JDMas will be able to invest in and leverage on GX Digital’s omnichannel platform that showcase its growing number of GoKingKong 5S outlets located throughout Malaysia, as well as its online platform that integrates the online2offline (O2O) stores.
With GX Digital, JDMas is in the process of training and preparing more than 50 micro entrepreneurs under the Khazanah Nasional MyStep programme to provide content creators and Key Opinion Consumer (“KOC”) leaders to assist and support its brands by creating engaging content to boost sales for its omnichannel platform locally. This will enable and provide Malaysian brands and sellers on JDMas a solid foundation to establish and strengthen their eCommerce capability within Malaysia, before they venture into markets across our borders.
At the same time, the more matured and cross border ready brands and sellers will utilise the 5S omnichannel platform to further boost their presence for the China market that JDMas currently occupies. The investment in GX Digital’s platform will see the adaptation of the omnichannel 5S model to expand into a multi-platform (including xiaohongshu, douyin and wechat stores) and multi-product (cross-border and JD Fresh Go stores) commerce and fulfilment.
The new focus on supporting Malaysian brands through training and guidance to penetrate and expand not only in the Malaysian and China markets but that of ASEAN economies is expected to exponentially increase the opportunities for growth.
The partnership will see the founder of GX Digital Sdn Bhd, Mr. Desmond Ng emerge as Executive Director of JDMas Commerce Sdn Bhd. JDMas Commerce Sdn Bhd will continue to invest in both investment in technology platform and development of its talents, to increase value for its Malaysian brands and sellers.
