KUALA LUMPUR, 12 January 2022 – JDMas Commerce Sdn Bhd (JDMas) today launched its Malaysia Flagship Store on JD Fresh Go, part of JD.com (China’s largest online and offline retailer), in the presence of YB Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. The store will cater to China’s increasing demand for Malaysian durians and products that will be exported through cold-chain fulfillment. The opening of the flagship store on JD Fresh Go is an extension of JDMas’ existing Malaysia Pavilion on JD Worldwide, a cross-border B2C import platform in China, where Malaysian durians have become the No.1 best-selling food item on JD’s 618 and 11-11 single-day shopping festival.

To meet China’s high demand, the all-new JD Fresh Go store will feature premium variety durians such as Malaysian Musang King, Sultan durians, etc. which is supported by JD’s wide network of 20 cold-chain warehouses located across China. Among the pioneer durian merchants that will be featured on the Malaysia Flagship Store on JD Fresh Go are Hernan Corporation, Durian Hill, and Royal Pahang. JD has taken the necessary steps to preserve the quality of the products during export by using the highest international standards of harvesting and processing the durians before being frozen and sent on freight to China. They will then be made available on the JD Fresh Go e-commerce platform and fulfilled using JD Logistics’ state-of-the-art warehouse and last-mile delivery system.

YB Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi, the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, said, “Today, China has moved to become Malaysia’s largest trading partner, accounting for 18.6% of total trade in 2020. Our local durian productions have so much potential that we have yet to tap into. The key to success seems to be the distribution coverage and fulfillment for the China market. This can only be achieved through partnerships with giant organizations such as JD.com. I applaud our local enterprises and brands who band together under one family, to list, promote and sell under the Malaysia Flagship Store on JD Fresh Go. It is one of the ways for us to push local products to the international market. Bersatu kita teguh!” Aside from durians and other fresh fruits, the Malaysia Flagship Store will also display downstream products such as mochi, mooncakes, gelato & ice cream, as well as frozen food such as roti canai, samosas, and cakes. Having created many success stories in the past, such as selling more than RMB11,000.00 worth of Sun Fong Bakuteh products within just 90 seconds during the singles day promotion or having Flowra brand of sanitary pads climb to the top five best-selling sanitary pads within just a few months of listing, JDMas is ready to take more Malaysian brand to greater heights to meet China’s demand for quality Malaysian products through. “The collaboration on JD, China’s largest Internet company and the world’s third-largest with over RMB462 billion in revenue, is significant since it has a zero-tolerance policy towards counterfeits, assuring its customers that durians and other products purchased are authentically Malaysian as it carries a premium.

Over time, this creates trust and loyalty with its 1 billion registered users,” said Datuk Bruce Lim, Managing Director of JDMas. “Secondly, Malaysian brands and merchants are able to tap into JD Logistic’s wide fulfillment network of more than 1,500 warehouses including 20 cold-chain warehouses and last-mile delivery covering 99% of China. During the pandemic, JD has also enabled drone and unmanned warehousing and delivery to fulfill orders. The availability of data and AI of its users in China has enabled promotion to be more effective and targeted, as well as drive cost of fulfillment down,” added Lim.
